Frequently asked questions.

  • Walk in availability is not guaranteed! It is always recommended to at least call ahead. For tattoos, we generally do not accept cover-ups or large scale projects as walk-ins. Piercings are by appointment, and we recommend calling ahead even just for jewelry changes.

  • It is best to contact the artist you’d like to work with directly. Each artist has their preferred contact method available on their page. General inquiries can be directed to the shop’s email address. Artists may take a few days to get back with you, please be patient! Tattoo appointments will require a deposit, which will be applied to the final cost of your tattoo.

  • We ask that you notify the studio if you are running late. We want to be able to provide the desired service in its entirety and will try our best to do so even if you’re behind schedule. After 15 minutes past your scheduled appointment time, your appointment is subject to change based on the artist’s discretion. Please understand that this is not a “punishment” but may be necessary to prevent overlap in the artists schedule. All attempts to reschedule in a timely manner will be made. If we do not hear from you 15 minutes or more past your scheduled appointment time, you will be considered a “No-Show” and your deposit will be forfeit. In order to prevent downtime at the studio the artist may fill the remainder of your scheduled time with other appointments and be unable to accommodate tardiness

  • We prefer that you do not apply any numbing cream without first checking in with your artist. Certain numbing creams can make the skin difficult to work with and result in less than ideal healing. We have numbing spray products that can be applied during the tattoo as needed.

  • We accept cash or card for payment. Make sure you have the proper ID! Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access the area to be tattooed. You may feel free to bring snacks, drinks, or headphones. You should eat a full meal and hydrate well before coming in. It is not recommended to drink alcohol within 24 hours prior of your appointment. Moisturize your skin and make sure it is not scraped, cut, bruised, or sunburned where you wish to be tattooed. • Always start with washing your hands.

If you received a saniderm covering, leave that on for up to 5 days. As long as the saniderm has not peeled back or leaked it is safe to leave on. When you remove the saniderm do so in the shower and pull it parallel to the skin. Immediately wash the tattoo after removing the saniderm. Check out this short video for tips on removing your bandage.

If you received a temporary bandage it should be removed after an hour. Immediately wash the tattoo after removing the bandage.

Wash your tattoo using unscented soap and lukewarm water and your fingers (absolutely no wash cloths, sponges, or loofahs). Wash at least 2 to 3 times daily for the entire healing period. Rinse the tattoo thoroughly then pat the tattoo dry using disposable paper products such as paper towel. Do not use cloth bath towels as they harbor bacteria. Always let your tattoo air dry for an additional 10 to 15 minutes before applying healing ointment such as A&D or Toad & Turnip balm. Apply a SUPER THIN film of ointment. If it is still greasy after an hour, you put too much ointment on! Blot excess off with paper towel. Your tattoo will begin to peel within 3 to 5 days. DO NOT PICK OR SCRATCH YOUR TATTOO. Let the peeling fall off naturally. If scabbing occurs, do not pick your scab. Some soreness, bruising, and scabbing are common during the healing period, but if proper care is taken, complications are fairly rare.

  • Always start with washing your hands.

Your new piercing should be cleaned 2 times daily DO NOT OVER CLEAN. Use unscented antibacterial soap and lather the soap in your hands, NOT directly on your piercing. You may notice a dry, crusty build-up on your piercing, which is not uncommon. DO NOT PICK IT OFF, as this can tear tissue and delay healing. Anything that does not come off easily when rinsing should be left alone. After rinsing off any build-up, spray the piercing site with a saline solution spray. Do not use eye contact solution. DO NOT turn or play with jewelry. Too much movement can irritate and/or cause unnecessary swelling. Inflammation is normal and bruising can sometimes occur. DO NOT use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or petroleum jelly based ointments or creams (Neosporin, Vaseline, etc.). Sleeping on your new piercing or failing to downsize properly may cause complications. Avoid tight clothing as they can rub and pull, irritating the piercing. Oral piercings should be cleaned every time after you eat, drink or smoke with an alcohol-free mouthwash.
